day out - family fun

Hello there!

So today is Saturday, and I was going to write this up on the car back home last night but we ended up coming back really quite late with a few adventures on the way, so I figured this morning would be a lot more better :)
Me and my little sister have got up really early yesterday (6am on holiday is REALLY early for me) to travel to a little village in the North East of Poland called Sulejki. It's a beautiful village positioned in between three different beautiful lakes. Here is a picture I took yesterday, of the one we were right by.
Doesn't it look absolutely gorgeous? I think so!

It was a truely magical place to spend day day, we are only sad that we could not have stayed longer. In fact we did wonder whether it would be possible, but with our whole family attending a big wedding of my cousin today, it sure proved to be a little more difficult to arrange for us to stay. Never the less we had an amazing time, very relaxing and just lovely. Here are some more pictures from a boat trip to the shop across the lake, the BBQ and other things we did!
Gabi on a really old boat, but looks quite cool!
These swans were far from friendly! Puffing at us as soon as we got in the lake!

A shot of exactly what the day consisted of! Drinks and good food!

I was messing around with the panorama setting on my iPhone, it looks quite good I think!

Beach volleyball was a fail! None of us could really play.. i know right!

It would be great if you shared some of your own experiences from this summer holiday. Something new you did or something you particularity enjoyed doing! I would love to see what people get up to!
And now,
Until next time! xo

where to start and where I call home.

Hello there stranger!

This is the first post and like with any other firsts, I am not sure where to start.
I see this somewhat as meeting new people, like introducing myself in front of a group of new faces. Which also means that introducing myself with my name and trying to make a good first impression is probably where I should begin.
So, my name is Magda and I'm just like your any ordinary girl. Although I guess that does not create a good first impression. In this case, imagine myself as a girl next door. Fun, sweet, innocent.. and modest of course :)
I'm originally from Poland although it has been quite a while now since I have moved to the UK, a little too long even maybe. This is where my life is now, and this is definitely where I call home.
Which actually brings me onto a topic which has been on my lips a lot during the past few days as I am actually on holiday in Poland at the moment. Me and my little sister Gabby have travelled to Poland mainly for the wedding of our cousin. While on the coach travelling from Warsaw to Bialystok (a beautiful city where I was born) I was about to write a Facebook status, and then it struck me. The question. Have I just arrived on holiday, or at home? When talking about it before travelling I would tell my friends I was going back home, although now that I am actually here it does not quite feel like it. There is a different feel to it and I definitely do not feel like I am on some really relaxing holiday, but it also doesn't feel like home. The busy schedules and visiting every relative you can remember the address of makes it a little more hectic than what I imagine a real holiday to be. In fact today, on my 5th day here, I am actually starting to feel a little homesick. I miss my mum and dad, my boyfriend and my friends, and even though I have familiar faces surrounding me here, it does not feel the same.
I could dwell on this subject for hours, looking at all the 'for' and 'against' but I think I have a very simple answer. Home is where the heart is! :)
I wonder if anyone else is in the same situation as me. Anyone else feeling like they don't have a place they can 100% call home, or maybe you have two? I'd love to find out! It would be nice to not feel alone in this situation!

Greetings from beautiful Bialystok, Poland!
until next time xo.
